We also offer equipment and support products to make everyday life easier and support individual health goals. There is ample parking in front of the store entrance, with easy access for customers.

At eirberg.is, we offer a 365-day return period and free delivery on online orders over ISK 10,000 that weigh less than 20 kg. Free home delivery is available only for online orders.

Our history

Eirberg ehf. is a long-established family business with roots in Ó. Johnson og Kaaber ehf. (founded in 1906) and Hjálpartækjabankinn. ÓJ&K and Össur hf. founded Eirberg in late 2000, bringing together ÓJ&K's healthcare products division and Hjálpartækjabanki Össurar in a single company. The aim was to expand in healthcare and develop the combined business with a wider range of products.

Agnar H. Johnson served as chair of the board from the company's founding and later also took on the role of managing director. He is now the principal owner and executive chair. Kristinn A. Johnson is managing director and Rannveig Guðmundsdóttir is chief financial officer.

Stuðlaberg heilbrigðistækni ehf. was established later and took over Eirberg's healthcare division on 1 January 2018. Eirberg then focused on products for outdoor activities, movement, health promotion and a better quality of life.

The name Eirberg is a compound word inspired by Norse mythology. Eir, the goddess of healing, was one of Menglöð's maidens. Menglöð, the sun-bright one, lives with her maidens on Lyfjaberg, where the wounded and sick found healing. Eir brings help in times of need and is called upon for healing: she is the one who spares or protects. Interestingly, Lyfjaberg is usually depicted as a formation of columnar basalt, known in Icelandic as stuðlaberg.
